Dr. Louisa Mertens earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from LECOM School of Dental Medicine in 2021. Dentistry is more than a profession for Dr. Mertens, it’s a lifelong passion rooted in family tradition. Growing up in Germany, her father is a practicing dentist, while her mother and sister are medical doctors, inspiring her dedication to healthcare and patient well-being from an early age.
Since moving to the United States in 2018 to pursue her dental education, Dr. Mertens has been committed to providing compassionate, personalized care to her patients. She finds fulfillment in helping people achieve healthy, confident smiles and believes that dentistry is as much about fostering relationships as it is about oral health.
Outside of the office, Dr. Mertens enjoys spending time at the beach, traveling, and exploring new destinations. She loves spending time with her dog, often treating him to pup cups during their outings, and values the balance of work, adventure, and quality time with loved ones. Her expertise, passion, and approachable nature make her a trusted and valued member of the dental team.
